Taking time off, now what?

Taking time off can be somewhat of a shock to our system, especially if you are of the work, work, work variety. Putting fast breaks to a busy work schedule can feel off-putting and passive resting, think bingeing Netflix, is not as restorative as intentional resting.

So how can you be intentional with your time off?

Use your breaks to work towards personal goals, not work goals. We'd be remiss if we didn't mention that these goals don't need to be lofty, rather they should be something you are looking forward to.

Reaching your personal goals could simply mean spending time with loved ones, pursuing a hobby, or organizing your closet. Whatever your goals are, make a plan to utilize your vacation time wisely. This proactive recovery will leave you happier than just passive rest.
